We introduced a private message system more than 15 years ago and our members have sent millions of messages to one another.
I was reading a message board post from this past July from wahoo2719 posted the following:
I wish there was a way to do this with private messages as well. I don't like to delete the old ones, just so I can remember who I've dealt with in the past, but I wish I could unclutter my active mailbox by moving older stuff into an archive folder.
I thought this is a great idea and something that bothered me. So early this morning I added this feature to the site:
On the left side, there is a link (highlighted in white) for "Archived Items". You can move items between your Inbox and Archive.
